| 2001 | Seasonal population of dynamic of citrus leafminer phyllocnistis citrella was studied on ten lime trees in Agricultural, Experimental Station, College of Agriculture, King Saud University at Deirab from April 1998 to May 1999. eighteen newly leaves from each cardinal quadrants of the trees were picked up randomly and inspected twice a month. Larvae first were detected in early February. A peak of abundance of larvae was detected in April for the two seasons. Larvae disappeared in late June and Mid-May for the two seasons, respectively. Probably the reason behind this fluctuation is the extremely high temperature, which reach more than 45ºC for long period. West and South sides of the lime trees had more citrus leafminer larvae than North or East sides but the different is not significant. The percentage of infestation reaches 85% in April 1998, which is so high and may kill young trees. | A. M. Alahmed; Abdulrahman; S. Al-Dawood |
