THE FATHER OF NATION HAVE FULFILLED HIS

المؤلفون: Dr. Salim Mohammad Khanfar

ملخص: AbstractTourism is the largest global industry, and the tourism market is growing. According to the World Tourism Organization (WTO), the global tourism market will triple in size by 2020. Tourism benefits local economies substantially by increasing foreignexchange earnings, creating employment and investment opportunities, increasing government revenues, developing a country's image, and supporting all sectors of the economy as well as local communities. Tourism is of vital importance to the nationaleconomy of Oman. It is the Kingdom's largest export sector, its second largest private sector employer, and it's second highest producer of foreign exchange. The potentials to generate revenue and employment have been increasing in this Kingdom. I had tried to examine that is tourism industry is indeed a key component of economic growth and competitiveness of the Sultanate of Oman, By comparing Oman with the tourism world especially with its neighboring countries in middle East. By analyzing impact of tourism in Oman I have noticed that His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Saidhas fulfilled his promise by introducing vision 2020.

العنوان: ADVENTURE TRAVEL INTERNATIONAL: MARKET SEGMENTATION AND OPPORTUNITY ASSESSMENT

المؤلفون: NILE M. KHANFAR; DAVID LOUDON

ملخص: Identified an opportunity to develop the adventure travel market within the United Arab Emirates. Consequently, he has founded Adventure Travel International (ATI) based in Abu Dhabi to take advantage of the opportunity. The national tourism and travel industry is growing 4% and adventure travel 10% annually, while the Abu Dhabi adventure travel market is growing at least 12% annually and has no providers who specialize solely in adventure travel. ATI expects to succeed based on having an experienced staff, an excellent location, and effective management and marketing. Salim has an important meeting coming up within 30 days to make his recommendation to prospective financial backers. The plan would have to be thoroughly developed in order to obtain the group’s approval. Consequently, Salim faces a short timeline for analyzing information to present his plan to the group if he is to gain their support and funding.

Leadership Tendencies of Government Employees

العنوان: Leadership Tendencies of Government Employees

المؤلفون: Salim M. Khanfar

ملخص: The leadership behaviors of people are likely to be partially shaped bytheir cultural contexts. For example, it is expected that people from high-contextcultures are likely to be more focused on relationships. To explore the behavioraltendencies of working adults in Oman, since there is a paucity of information on thispopulation, this paper compares the leadership perception of 129 governmentemployees based on their age and gender. It appears that Omanis have similar scoreson their task and relationship orientations. Furthermore, gender and age did notproduce any statistically significant differences. Practical suggestions for expatriatesand implications are presented.
