| Abstract: | An evapotranspiration and meteorological station was established in the College of Agriculture Experimental Station at Deirab for measuring the consumption of water by alfalfa. Actual evapotranspiration E., as measured, was then compared with calculated rates as estimated by the methods of Penman, Blaney and Criddle, Jensen and Haise, and Rijtema. These formulae under-estimated actual evapotranspiration in the hot and conditions of the Riyadh region where there is considerable lateral movement of advected energy. Mathematical relations between actual and estimated evapotranspiration were established |
