| Abstract: | In a pot experiment, the effects of uresol 336 and peatmoss as well as their concentrations and method of application on evaporation rate and cumulative evaporation loss were evaluated. Uresol was superior in decreasing evaporation loss from soil than peatmoss. As to the application method, it was found that mixing uresol in soil layers was highly effective in suppressing evaporation loss. This effect was more pronounced upon increasing the rate of application as well as when the thickness of the incorporated soil layer was decreased. In case of layer application technique, it was found that placing uresol on soil surface has resulted in more reduction in evaporation loss than its placement at any depth below surface |
