Abstract: The effect of ivermectin and vermisantel complex against Hyalloma dromedarii was investigated. Foru H. dromedarri infested rabbit groups (Oryctolagus spp), each consisted of three rabbits, were subcutaneously treated on day 1 post infestation at 400 µg/kg invermectin; and at 6.25 mg/kg vermisantel complex, respectively. Another 4 infested rabbit groups were treated twice, on day 1 and day 8 post infestation with ivermectin and vermisantel complex as described for the first 4 infested and treated groups. A control groups was included. Ivermectin showed high acaricidal activity with rabbits treated twice at a dose of 800 µg/kg which caused 160% larval morality and significant reductions in adult engorgement weight, number and hatchaility of eggs laid. However, no significant differences were obtained when ticks were exposed to vermisantel complex treated and control rabbits.
