| Abstract: | Oxidative dehydrogenation of propane was carried out on alumina supported chromium oxide catalyst at 1 atm, 350°-450°C, and feed flowrate of 75 cc/min. Propane conversion was 16.7% and selectivity to propylene was 54.1% at 450°C on the chromium oxide catalyst. Based on olefins yield, the catalysts at 450°C were in the order Cr-Li < Cr-Ho < Cr-La < Cr-Bi < Cr-Co < Cr- < Cr-Cs < Cr-Ni < Cr-Mo. The best performance was obtained from Cr-Mo. The olefins yield was 10.8% at 450°C and propane/oxygen ratio of 4:1. The feed composition was varied. The highest yield of 16.3% was achieved at propane/oxygen ratio of 2:1. |
