| Abstract: | In this paper, a design of complete water level monitoring (WLM) system using mobile phone over GSM network is presented. The system is intended to be used in many municipal, environmental and process applications that can provide users with mobility. The structure of the proposed system is based on 1) developing a low cost sensor that uses variable resistor to measure the changes in water level; and 2) building interface and communication between water level sensor and a mobile phone. The electronic circuit layouts of the sensor and interface as well as integration of all WLM system elements are described. The performance of the proposed WLN system is evaluated through experimental tests. The results highlight the feasibility of working prototype that can monitor water level correctly. |
