| Abstract: | Three analytical models for straight fins subjected to different periodic conditions are verified experimentally. The first model is for a constant base temperature and periodic atmospheric temperature. The difference between the theoretical and experimental results is within 7%. For the second model where the fin is subjected to periodic base temperature and constant atmospheric temperature, agreement is also within 7%. The third model is for a fin subjected to periodic base heat flux and atmospheric temperature, where the deviation is less than 4%. |
