Practical ERP Implementation in Government Organization

Abstract

Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems have been implemented around the globe in thousands of organizations. However, failure accompanied many of them due to the nature of ERP system or implementation pitfalls. Several investigators have reported the success and failure factors, the righ implementation methods as well as lessons learned from that implementation. In this paper we present our experience in implementing an ERP system at King Saud University (KSU) in Saudi Arabia. We highlight the factors that helped in implementing the ERP in an acceptable manner and point out the pitfalls that must be avoided.
