Abstract: The unique skeletodental features of adult Saudi male with an anterior open bite were investigated and compared to control sample of adult Saudi male with normal occlusion. The sample consists of 46 standardized pre-treatment cephalometric radiographs of adult Saudi with an anterior open bite and 30 Saudi with normal occlusion. The results of comparisons indicated that, the adult Saudi male with an anterioropen bite exhibit (1) shorteranterior cranial base (2) a retrognathic maxilla and mandible relative to cranial base (3) smaller maxillary, ramus, and mandibular body lengths (4) a greater total mandibular length (5) steeper mandibular plane, an increase in the lower part of the gonial angle and an anterior diuergence angle (6) increased total anterior and lower anterior facial heights with increased ratio of the loweranterior facial height to the total anterior facial height (7) increased anterior and posterior or upper dental height with maxillary posterior dentoalueolar hyperplasia (8) protruded maxillary incisors and retruded mandibular incisors with small interincisal angle.Further studies are needed to investigate the features for the adult Saudi female and to compare the results to the adult Saudi male. The comparison may be extended to other ethnic groups or populations. The results showed that the tested hypothesis "No differences exist 1.11 the skeletodental features between the adult Saudi male with anterior openbite and adult Saudi male with normal occlusion" was not accepted.
