The effect of overglazing on the colour of ceramometal complexes

Abstract

The effects of various body porcelain surface textures, types of alloys and brands of porcelain relative to colour were evaluated. Two alloys (Verinor and Resistal P) and two brands of porcelain (Vita and Ceramco II) were used. Statistical analysis was then performed to evaluate the resultant values. It was demonstrated that with higher body porcelain gloss Hue shift increased, Value decreased and Chroma was not altered.
