Title: A.C. polarographic quantitation of tolmetin sodium

Abstract: Powdered tablets, equivalent to ≃125 mg of tolmetin sodium (I), was shaken for 10 min with 60 ml of H2O. The mixture was filtered and the filtrate was diluted to 100 ml with acetate buffer of pH 5 containing 0.001% of gelatin (maxima suppressor). A 25-ml portion of the resulting soln. was degassed for 5 min with a stream of N and analysed polarographically at 1 mV s–1 from –1200 to –1450 mV. Recoveries were 98.4% to 104.5%.
