Title: Students' Achievement in French Grammar

Abstract: This study aims at recognizing strength and weakness points as well as the difficulties that translation students (College of languages and translation(COLT) - French department) face regarding French grammar. It also aims at recognizing students' achievement in French grammar taught in COLT because there a lot of grammatical problems that the students face in translation and also the students' abilities after 5 years in studying French translation are below the required level. This study is limited to French grammar only without mentioning the other skills because grammar has a major role in making the translator especially in the initial steps of learning the language. Students' achievement was measured by designing an objective statistical test that includes the basic French grammar as it is the real standard in deciding whether achieving the desired goals of the curriculum was successful or not. The results have shown that the achievement percentage was generally below average which shows the students' weakness and a real problem that should be solved.
