| Abstract: | This study investigates empirically the relationship between the economic development
of Saudi Arabia and the growth of its oil exports during the period 1970 -1982.
The study is divided into six sections: Section (1) reviews briefly the existing
economic literature on export-led growth models. Section (2) outlines the main
economic characteristics of the Saudi economy. Section (3) presents the models
used for the empirical work and briefly describes the data used. Sections (4) and
(5) address themselves to the empirical analysis of the results obtained. Finally,
section (6) summarises the main findings of the study. |
