| Abstract: | This paper makes a comparative study between D.H. Lawrence and Tawfiq Al-Hakim with a view to identifying the smilarities and the differences between their dualistic doctrines. After discussing the affinities and the differences between the two writers' conceptions of dualism in general, it moves on to outline and explain the various pairs of polarity common to both doctrines as well as those which distin-guish the one from the other. The paper ends with some conclusions indicating the possible sources which had an influence on the two doctrines and asserts the original contribution of both writers to the theory of dualism at large. |
