Abstract: Germanium-silicon alloys of nominal composition Ges0-Siso atomic fraction have been prepared by isothermal solidification and hot-pressing at temperatures up to 1350 K and pressure of 178 MPa. It is shown that high degree of homogenization can be obtained in the final compact. This work lends further evidence for the plastic flow mechanism of the sintering of these alloys.
