| Abstract: | . The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of-the world's largest dates producer, with an annual harvest of more than 550,000 tones. This huge quantity of dates processed in more than twenty large date processing plants. The criteria for grading dates in these plants is based on visual judgment. As it is being done manually, it is more time consuming. Cost of this process is very high and the labor supply is not so steady. Also manual grading does not produce a uniform and consistent result through out the day. So nowadays the need to automate the grading process is growing rapidly. |
