Abstract: The case of a partially lined trapezoidal channel excavated in a highly permeable soil of infinite depth is investigated in this paper. The results of an earlier research are Modified and used in establishing equations for estimating channel length downstream from a reference section and channel discharge at a general section. The above mentioned equations are provided for channels with side lining as well as for those with bottom lining. The solution of a numerical example shows that equations are simple and practical. Inspection of a number of graphs illustrates the effect of various parameters on the channel length. Distribution of discharge along with channel the lining efficiency for both bottom lined and side lined channels.
