| Title: | DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF FLOW IN TRAPEZOIDAL CHANNELSSUBJECT TO SEEPAGE LOSSES |
| Authors: | Helmi M. Hathoot Ahmed I. Al-Amoud Fawzi S. Mohammad |
| Issue Date: | 1998 |
| Abstract: | The problem of non-uniform seepage along a trapezoidal channel excavated in a permeable soil of infinite thickness is investigated in this paper. In the analysis impact and friction losses and the actual curved water-surface profile are taken into consideration. A rational seepage per unit channel length equation together with the numerical integration method are used in performing calculations. A simple computer program is provided to check the existence of a control section. Another computer program for estimating the water-surface profile and the channel length downstream from a reference section is also presented.
A practical numerical example is solved and the results according to this work are compared with those presented previously using an approximate method. |
